Legendary Comic-Con in Prague for the first time ever

We would like to share with you a beautiful event that took place in the restaurant U Malířů 1543 last week. You may be wondering what a restaurant in Lesser Town has in common with the world’s most famous pop-culture festival Comic-Con. Three days (7th-9th February 2020) full of a rich program at the Prague congress center 02 universum attracted thousands of fans, especially sci-fi, fantasy and horror fans. For the first time in the Czech Republic, a number of actors, comics artists and other artists presented themselves at one event. Just for the stars of the Comic-con festival a special private evening with a degustation menu were prepared (on February 9) at the premises of our restaurant, which was therefore closed to the public. We were honored to prepare an evening for such celebrities as Casper Van Dien known from Starship Troopers, Brandon Routh known as Clark Kent from Superman, and many others. This private event was also attended by Zdeněk Hřib, the current Mayor of the Capital Prague, who took the honorary patronage over the Comic-Con Prague festival. We would like to thank the organizers of this event for bringing Comic-Con to Prague and all guests of the evening for the unique atmosphere created by their presence in the restaurant U Malířů 1543.

GALA DINNER ON THE OCCASION OF THE PRESENTATION OF CHÂTEAU ESCOT WINES

Major events need to be celebrated properly. This is doubly true when new wines are introduced. On December 3, 2019, a gala dinner was held at the Kaiserstein Palace in the Lesser Town, where the French winery Château Escot was officially presented. A total of 130 wine lovers had the opportunity to enjoy a gala degustation menu with wine pairing from the Château Escot winery. Miroslav Doležal, the chef of the restaurant U Malířů 1543, and Pavel Sapík, the chef of the restaurant Terasa U Zlaté studně, contributed to the complete preparation of the gala dinner. The official welcome was held in the Crystal Hall, where an oyster bar and appetizers were prepared for guests. Combined with a glass of Cahmpagne Castelnau (Brut Reserve Magnum), this was an elegant start to the entire gala dinner. A total of 6 courses and 6 different Château Escot wines of different years represented a complete harmony of tastes at the highest level, all while listening to live music. The whole event took place under the auspices of the company Good Wine Lover and the restaurant U Malířů 1543. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the whole event. The total area of 17 hectares is composed of two different vineyard plots: the first is situated in the territory of Lesparre-en-Médoc and the in the territory of Saint-Christoly-en-Médoc, on the slopes of a low hills near the estuary Gironde River.
