Beautiful

Recommended by our hotel concierge and just a couple of minutes from the Charles Bridge, this restaurant is in an historic building. The dining room and bar areas are classically re-created and have the feel of a private club in London. Service was excellent from courteous reception to departure. The wine list offered a good selection of good Czech wines and the usual European choice.The food was well prepared and while I usually keep the printout so that I can remember what we ate, it has disappeared. I would recommend.

U Maliru was an excellent

U Malírū was an excellent recommendation from our Hotel. We wanted something that was fine dining with a lovely warm atmosphere, but did not want to commit several hours of our evening to a long service. What a perfect choice!!! We appreciated the sprinkling of French influence and the fantastic wine pairings that really complimented the food.
Foie excellent.
Escargot excellent.
Bread excellent.
Little surprises from the kitchen, excellent.
Duck Breast excellent.
Gin “Martini” excellent.
Service was friendly and the atmosphere was amazingly cozy and aesthetically beautiful.

Degustace jak má být

Restauraci jsme navštívili v rámci GRF 2020. Prostředí a obsluha vynikající. Nabízené menu nemělo chybičku. Víno doplňující menu taktéž. Sklenka a káva navíc za rozumnou cenu. Obsluha si připravila při servírování několik hezkých příběhů. Flambování palačinek bylo přímo zážitkové. Odcházeli jsme spokojeni.

Excellent restaurant

Upper price class but you get what you paid for. The service is excellent as well as the food. I had a tartar as starter and it was the best tarter I ever had. Incredible wine list. Good atmosphere. Perfect for a romantic dinner for two.

Chateaubriand and Red Wine

Our hotel recommended this restaurant as we wanted somewhere quiet with an authentic feel to it. Upon arrival it seemed very quiet, it was, however this just meant we got more attention! Welcome aperitif and treats from the chef were delicious. The menu has something to suit all tastes, we chose the lobster starters and Chateaubriand. We asked for a mid range wine recommendation which was perfection with our meal. Service excellent, value for money for the quality of produce and attention given by the chef to his menu was good. The restaurant is beautiful I hope they continue to become busy as they deserve to be, we loved our evening there.

Superb evening on our last night in Prague

Have just dined here after wandering purposefully not very far from the crowded tourist area. Service and food faultless with a knowledgeable sommelier who listened to my request and chose a great wine. Beautiful restaurant in a 15C building. Meal portions perfect, beautifully executed and presented. Top class fine dining that didn’t really break the bank. A fitting end to our stay in Prague. A wander back to our hotel enjoying the deserted streets and lit buildings.

Outstanding

Great restaurant, superb service, knowledgeable and friendly but not over-familiar. Lovely old building – the oldest restaurant in the Czech Republic. Not the cheapest restaurant you’ll find but very good food indeed. The lamb, the turbot and the chicken all ranked highly. Excellent wine list.

Great lunch!

On a warm summerday, the streets crowded with tourists , we were looking for a nice place to have lunch. Lots of restaurants to go to, lots of offers for affordable meals and snacks.. But then, in a quiet corner we found this place. In a historical atmosphere we had a lovely seat. The menu is great, there is a choice of fish and vegetarian meals as well as meat. The dishes we had were terrific, especcialy the starters. We had a very pleasant time there, had great food and hope to return there the next time we visit prague.

The art of enogastronomic pleasures

I am really happy to enjoy the heaven of professional servis and top quality cuisine – our choice during the late and still very hot afternoon was a bottle of Chablis and very light refreshment. We liked the place and its story and did not want to leave it. We hope to be back soon.

What a treat!

We happened upon this restaurant by chance and are so glad that we did as it turned out to be one of the best meals we’d had for a long time and without doubt the best we’d had in Prague. There was only one other couple dining when we went in yet it felt comfortable and the staff, while attentive, were discreet. The waiters were delightful in a polite, understated way and we were treated to the most delicious meal in gorgeous surroundings. My main meal of duck breast was stunning. It was a really special experience yet so reasonably priced. If you get a chance, eat here! 

Close to the Charles Bridge but still a secret

Atmosphere, service and kitchen are very good. Even though we arrived very late, we were extremely attentive and without hounding. The restaurant is very worth seeing. Like a medieval palace. Price / performance was very good. The criticism of others I can not understand. The wine prices are reasonable. Nice that it is not touristy. Close to the Charles Bridge but still a secret.

The best gastronomic experience in Prague

My girlfriend and I both agreed that this has been our best gastronomic experience in Prague. The service was perfect, discreet, prompt and helpful. The food was wonderfully presented and tasted delicious. The interior is cozy and romantic. Thank you for the great experience!

Amazing experience

We visit Prague relatively frequently, and always try to discover new places to eat. I am so happy we found this place. It is an amazing restaurant. The food was fantastic, staff very attentive, the interior is stunning, and it really makes for a wonderful experience. Can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be back.

Christmas Eve dinner to remember….

Booked and paid for well in advance (a must for Christmas Eve in Prague), we had a fantastic dining experience here during Christmas, 2018. Polite and engaging service, beautiful food, some great advice on local wines and a charming atmosphere. Pricey to be sure, but it was a special Christmas menu, and a delightfully relaxed way of celebrating it. Strongly recommend for a special occasion.

Atmospheric restaurant

Promise you, your visit to Prague will be more memorable if you dine at this restaurant. It isn’t cheap, but it is a very beautiful dining room which will make you feel like you are dining in a palace.

The food is very good and the staff are very kind and thoughtful.
We chose the Bohemia tasting menu, which I recommend.
We asked to swap a the roasted pork dish and they were did so readily, swapping it for quail. Also some of our party wanted the pairing wines and others didn’t and they were happy to accommodate that as well.

If you want to experience what Prague probably felt like in its heyday, try U Maliru – it may end up being one of your top Prague vacation experiences.

“Excellent fine dining experience”

We visited once for lunch and chose to return for dinner a few days later. This is a fine-dining establishment, with white tablecloths and “correct” but friendly service, but the pricing is an exceptionally good value for the experience. (Both meals included amuse-bouche, sorbet, and house-made chocolates served with the coffee.)

I was pleasantly surprised to find two good vegetarian main dishes, and the portions were all properly sized for a good appetite.

Excellency

One of the best experience for fine dining not only in Praha but in Europe. One of the oldest restaurants in Prague, unique interior design with historical wall paintings, excellent waitresses and delicous menu accompanied by wonderful wine of select. Nothing more could be expected for a fine dining.

Refined food in nice setting

Elegant restaurant. Food is sophisticated and very tasty. We have tried both the fish and the meat and everything was excellent. Price is not cheap, but it’s worth it

Little Bohemia

We had a lovely evening at U Maliru last week. We were welcomed into the restaurant by friendly waiting staff and the whole experience was very relaxed. They let us take our time to settle into the atmosphere and order an aperitif before even looking at the menu. The waiter introduced the menu with a short but informative history of the restaurant which was truly interesting. We ordered the foie gras and lobster bisque for starters which were both really tasty and then we shared the chateaubriand for main. The chateaubriand was flambéed at the table by the waiter and was done excellently. The amuse bouche and chocolates were a really nice touch. Amazing experience, amazing food and amazing service. Highly recommend.
